Postcards from Senegal

February 15, 2012 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 2 Comments

Yesterday my mom returned from a two-week trip to Senegal and Gambia, where she and a friend sailed on a week-long river cruise. (Sidenote: her flight from Washington, DC to Dakar was a quick 7.5 hours!)

And in yesterday’s mail my three kids received her postcards from Senegal.

For number one son, who is 13, she sent this beautiful postcard.

And for my 4 year old daughter, she sent this one of women and a baby.

Finally, for my youngest son, who is 2, she sent this fabulous card of boys.

My three kids enjoyed these postcards and listened patiently as I read what my mom had written (my 13 year old read his own postcard). I also noticed this cool stamp that commemorates the 50th year of independence (from France) in 2010.

My mom always sends my kids postcards from her travels. This time didn’t disappoint.

Next stop–Turkey (in May).
