I had the honor of speaking about Bernardine, 1930s Shanghai, and my research a month ago at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, New Jersey as part of the Jewish Book Council’s Network Author Program.
It was so much fun and was actually the day after the US presidential election. I wasn’t sure anyone would show up, but in the end 50+ people attended in person—at 10am!
The questions were wonderful and mainly covered just how in the world did I get interested in Old Shanghai.
It was one of the most invigorating book events I’ve done. Thank you, Jewish Book Council and the Katz JCC!
