Last week I was so honored to attend the annual conference of Biographers International Organization, or BIO. I recorded a podcast episode with BIO, which I’ll post when it’s up. I also moderated a panel about writing Asian and Asian American biographies, all in the spirit of Bernardine’s salon. Katie Gee Salisbury, author of NOT YOUR CHINA DOLL: THE WILD AND SHIMMERING LIFE OF ANNA MAY WONG, Karen Fang, author of the forthcoming BACKGROUND ARTIST: THE LIFE AND WORK OF TYRUS WONG, and Sung-Yoon Lee, author of THE SISTER: NORTH KOREA’S KIM YO JONG, THE MOST DANGEROUS WOMAN IN THE WORLD were my esteemed panelists. BIO is a wonderful organization and I always feel so inspired after attending their conferences and other programs.
