One week in Cartagena

October 27, 2019 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

It’s only taken me four months, but here are some photos of Cartagena, where my mom and I traveled this past summer. We decided to go there after meeting a number of travelers in Panama City the summer before, travelers who had just come from Colombia. We were intrigued.

Cartagena is on the coast and quite hot in the summer, but so beautiful and picturesque that the heat and humidity were totally worth it.

The architecture inside the walled city is especially stunning.

Many of the doors have elaborate door knockers and these are just a couple.

This bookstore is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. I wanted to spend a whole day there, but there was too much to see.

The airport was small and didn’t have jetways, so we boarded on the tarmac.

Cartagena is an easy city to get around with lots of great sights and restaurants. We met few Americans, but I can see how that will be changing in the years to come.
