A Year in Photos–2018

January 15, 2019 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

It’s two weeks into 2019, but not too late to look back at 2018. I wasn’t upset to see it go, but it was a great year professionally and for traveling!

January

Who knew Stockholm would feel 40 degrees warmer (Fahrenheit) than Chicago in the dead of winter? I didn’t when I planned a trip there right after the new year, but as it turned out it was a great move. It doesn’t look that cold, does it?

February

I was born in the Year of the Dog and had fun celebrating it. We went to the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago for afternoon tea and a lion dance!

March

In March we traveled to Arizona. I also took the kids to New York to see number one son.

April

In April I went back to New York and hung out with my college roommate and her family–all the way from Hong Kong. We loved the High Line and taking the subway everywhere from Brooklyn to Manhattan to Queens.

May

My first article was published in the South China Morning Post this month!

June

June was busy with dragon boat racing!

July

In July, I traveled to Panama City with my mom. It was my first time in Central America and I absolutely loved it.

August

Florida in August!

September

Christina Matula came to Chicago on her book tour and we got to hang out for a couple of days while she was in town!

October

I discovered this about the Italian translation of my memoir!

November

Hong Kong! Not only did I take my kids there for the first time, but Bleak House Books held a preview event for Hong Kong Noir! Every moment of that trip was so magical!

December

Hong Kong Noir came out on December 5th!

I can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring!
