Halloween Central in Hong Kong

October 30, 2017 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

Halloween isn’t a huge holiday in Hong Kong, although a couple years ago I was there over the holiday and noticed quite a few bars in Kowloon City decked out in jack-o-lanterns and witch hats. So it’s definitely gaining popularity since I lived there.

But Hong Kong has a street right above the main business district that sells Halloween masks, costumes, and accessories. This summer I walked through these stalls with my friends. We came across this Korean movie set. (We’d see them the following day on the Peak.)

These are the stalls up close.

Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, and Jason’s hockey mask are just a few recognizable masks.

And other accessories.

Happy Halloween!
