Today I took my younger kids on a road trip to western Michigan. My friend Annette recently opened a another clothing and housewares shop, mainly stocked with items from Sweden. Her Chicago-area shops are my favorite and are where I buy most of my clothes (except when I travel to Hong Kong and shop up a storm there). So I needed to see her newest shop, even though it entailed crossing two state lines.
I just love her new space, a former post office building in Harbert, Michigan. Odd Molly is a Swedish designer and makes up most of my wardrobe. I added a couple more tops today, along with one from another brand.
I bought my kids some keychains (they collect them on our travels) and also got this dish towel as a souvenir from our day trip. It’s ultra-durable and can be put in the washing machine.
After shopping and talking with Annette and her husband, I took the kids to Warren Dunes State Park, just a couple miles up the road. It was a nice day and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and looking for shells in the dunes.
And here’s the view looking down, toward Lake Michigan:
We stopped for ice cream in Three Oaks, Michigan before heading back to Chicago. It was so much fun and we’re already talking about going back with the rest of the family!
