This evening I braved the rain to attend Sonali Dev’s Chicago-area book launch for A Change of Heart (Kensington, 2016). She paired up with fellow romance writer, Kate Meader, who spoke about her third book in her Chicago firefighter series. It was fun to hear these two authors speak about how they developed their latest books.
Sonali read from A Change of Heart, which tells the story of Dr. Nic Joshi after his wife, Jen, was murdered in a Mumbai slum for uncovering a black market organ transplant ring. Although she admits it’s her darkest work yet, she assured the audience it has a happy ending and another book in the series to follow.
She also spoke about her research and how organ transplant wasn’t easy to study. I’m with her and don’t think I’d even tackle a subject like that because I can’t deal with blood, let alone sawing people open and transplanting organs. (My husband, on the other hand, deals with hearts every day and lives for this stuff!).
I can’t wait to start A Change of Heart. If you haven’t read Sonali Dev’s other books, be sure to check out A Bollywood Affair (Kensington, 2014) and The Bollywood Bride (Kensington, 2014).
