Last week I learned that the Italian publisher Newton Compton has bought the rights to translate Good Chinese Wife into Italian!
This is my first foreign rights deal and I am beyond excited about it. I assume the publisher will create their own cover to appeal to the Italian market. As soon as I see it, I will post it here.
I love that Italy is my first foreign rights sale. My brother, who inspired me to write the book in the first place, spent a lot of time in his 20s in Italy and has many friends there. Italy for him is like Hong Kong for me. Plus, my late father always had a very special place in his heart for Italy. I spent time in Italy with both my brother and father some 20 years ago.
