Photo Friday

This is one of my favorite photos from Hong Kong 24 years ago, so I’m surprised I haven’t posted it before.

I remember I was with my father and we were passing through Hong Kong after a couple weeks in Thailand. We were en route to Shanghai and later Beijing, but stopped in Hong Kong so I could show it to my dad and introduce him to my friends and host family.

The weather must have been stifling hot since it was late June, but that didn’t stop us from shopping and walking around day and night. I’m not sure why I’m holding this roll of wrapping paper or even why I have a guidebook (I had just come off a year studying there), but there must have been a good reason.
