Photo Friday

Singapore synagogue 1994In honor of Rosh Hashanah, or the Jewish New Year, I dug up this photo from 20 years ago when my parents and I traveled to Singapore. We found the Maghain Aboth Synagogue, built in 1878. Here my mom and I are standing with the woman who managed the synagogue.

For anyone who has read Good Chinese Wife, I’m wearing the same dress I would wear on my wedding day three months later.
