This weekend I had a great time attending the book launch party for Middle Grade fiction author Nancy J. Cavanaugh and her new book, Always, Abigail (Sourcebooks, 2014). Nancy is not only a local author, but we share the same, fabulous publisher!
Her event was fun and colorful with decorations that matched her gorgeous book covers. Check out this beautiful cake!
I also had the pleasure of meeting more people on the amazing Sourcebooks team. Here I am with Alex and Tina, who work in marketing and sales, respectively. I was so honored to hear that they knew exactly who I was when I introduced myself. That’s the sign of a true author-focused publisher.
Besides Always, Abigail, Nancy has also written This Journal Belongs to Ratchet (Sourcebooks, 2013).
Nancy attended my book reading last week and I was thrilled to go to her launch party this weekend. Besides buying books, the second-best way to support an author is to attend her or his book events. When bookstores and publicity teams arrange book events, they hope to see a nice turnout. I know we are both grateful for such supportive friends and family.
