I was so touched by the outpouring of support when I posted my author photo choices. It was great to get the feedback and showed me the pluses and minuses of each photo. On Monday, I sent my editor my revised manuscript, my acknowledgements page(s), an author bio, and my photo.
Except that I still didn’t know which one to send. The comments on this site and on Facebook were pretty much even between the one in Hong Kong with hair flying in my face and a more subdued one taken at a wedding this summer.
So I sent my editor the three choices and she picked this one:
I’m very happy with it and think it is the most professional of the three and looks like an author photo.
Now that I’ve turned in the above items, the copy editing department at Sourcebooks will go through my manuscript, work their magic, and return it to me for another look. It will then be typeset and proofread.
I love this part of the publishing process, when the pros take a manuscript and turn it into a book.
In the next few weeks, I’ll also launch a redesign of my website. I’m working with my fabulous web designer on the finishing touches and can’t wait to roll it out.
Thank you for all your support!

Congrats 🙂 Can’t wait to read your book and hopefully I’ll learn some life lessons as well. By the way happy early Thanksgiving and Chanukkah.

Thank you! If anything, it’ll be a book about what not to do!

I like the photo. Good choice. I’m a step or two behind you in the publishing process. I’m waiting for the editor’s suggestions and looking forward the next step. Congratulations. I’ll keep an eye out for your newly designed website.

Thank you so much! I love receiving editors’ suggestions. Once upon a time, it was a very intimidating experience, but now I long for it. My copy edits are a bit delayed, but I should get them Monday. That’s also very exciting. I’ll post something when my redesign is ready!
