It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for my memoir. And it hasn’t involved much writing at all. My publisher asked me to put together a video for an internal sales meeting later this month. I had never made a video before, and all I have to say is thank goodness for teenagers. Fifteen-year-old Jake was my video editor, sound man, and even stand-in camera man.
I also met with my amazing web designer this week to hash out plans for a total redesign. We figure we’ll roll that out late this year in preparation for pre-orders and the cover release in February or March.
For both projects, I’ve found that photos have been my saving grace. They were for the video and I have a feeling they’ll feature prominently in the website redesign.
When I think about the latter, I can’t help but flip through my husband Tom’s striking photos of Hong Kong from last year. This is one of my favorites. He took it in Mongkok, one of the densest areas in the world. I’m not sure if or how this photo will fit into my website redesign, but it’s fun to think about all the exciting changes in the months to come.
