London fever

July 27, 2012 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 4 Comments

With all eyes on London today, I thought I’d post some photos not from my one and only trip there in 2006, but from my mom’s travels there 45 years ago.

Trafalgar Square

London, 1967

Here are a couple shots of streets with red double-decker buses.

It wasn’t my mom’s first or last time to visit London. I like these because I always enjoy looking at photos from the 1960s, no matter where they were taken.

Enjoy the Olympics!

It really does look a much simpler time… amazing how much things have changed in the past 45 years.

Probably not all for the better, either.

Thanks for sharing these with us!

Thanks! Yes, it certainly was simpler then. To me, these photos scream John LeCarre for some reason.

Well, it’s the right time period… height of the Cold War… shame there’s not more little men in suits and hats, with beautifully furled umbrellas in the photos.

There is a guy in a suit in the Trafalgar Square one. Plotting his next move!
