I’ve posted photos of Afghanistan here and there, but somehow it seems fitting to show them all together today.
My mom took this photo in Afghanistan in 1965. The countryside seems so peaceful. Not a soldier in sight, eh?
When my mom traveled to Bamian, her car broke down. Here’s a photo of some friendly farmers who came to help out. That mud looked pretty tough.
These statues at Bamian were dynamited by the Taliban ten years ago.
And finally, here’s a postcard my mom sent to her siblings.
I hope people in Kabul can dance again soon.
