International Women’s Day and The Diva Doctrine

March 8, 2011 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 2 Comments

It hasn’t even been a week since Girls’ Day in Japan and now today is International Women’s Day!

To kick off International Women’s Day, yesterday the blog Speaking of China presented a list of 30 women who blog about relationships between western women and Chinese men. I was so honored to be mentioned in that list.

And to continue this celebration, I’m excited to share this beautiful trailer for Patricia V. Davis’s upcoming book, The Diva Doctrine: 16 Universal Principles Every Woman Needs to Know (Bonneville Books), to be published this May.

I was a huge fan of Davis’s memoir, Harlot’s Sauce: A Memoir of Food, Family, Love, Loss, and Greece (Harper Davis, 2008), so was thrilled and honored when she asked me to participate in her new book trailer. (My quote and photos start at 2:14.)

In The Diva Doctrine, Patricia provides crucial pieces of advice for young women who are just making their way in the adult world. But in her trailer, she shines the spotlight on regular women like me who have learned a few lessons along the way.

I can’t wait to read The Diva Doctrine. And I have a feeling that much of the advice will apply to women of all ages–be it for themselves, their daughters, nieces, goddaughters, or close friends–as it does in this trailer.

This is SO lovely! I’m pleased that you’re pleased, and pleased that you’re making so much of a difference in this world. Hope you write your own memoir someday!

Thank you for your comment, Patricia! I’m truly honored!! I have written a memoir and am still trying to secure an agent. Times are tough, but one must carry on!
