Postcard from Porto

Late last year my friend Vanessa sent me this postcard from Porto, Portugal.

As I posted yesterday, I spent my honeymoon in Portugal five years ago. Besides Lisbon, we also visited Porto.

In this postcard, Vanessa writes:

This delicious Art Nouveau deli has been in business in Porto since 1917. Some people prefer to buy their cheese and Portugues “chouriço” from traditional shops. It is now part of Porto’s heritage project.

Sadly, I didn’t step into this beauty (I don’t think I even saw it).

But we did enjoy a scrummy cheese and meat plate at a gorgeous restaurant right on the waterfront. I think it cost US$50, but it was worth every bite.

Obrigado! Good luck with your talk!! We had some great wines in Porto, not to mention port wine. My husband brought back a couple bottles with us to the US.
