My grandparents loved visiting the South Pacific.  Tahiti, Bora Bora, Pago Pago, Fiji, Western Samoa.

I found this brochure from early 1970s Western Samoa (now Samoa) at my grandma’s house a few weeks ago. I love the cover (left). There’s so much going on: the batik, the key hole (which is actually a cut-out), the romantic couple, the Brady Bunch font.

Check out the enticing copy inside the brochure:

Western Samoa, islands of spontaneous melody, leisurely strolling, graceful dancing, cool streams, sincere hospitality, beauty, adventurous shopping, friendly people.

The white guy in the photos is certainly enjoying most of that, whether jamming in his sarong with the natives, drinking from a gourd held by a beautiful woman, or lounging in the hotel bar, sipping a rum drink.

Who wouldn’t be drawn to Western Samoa?
