Thanksgiving in years past

November 26, 2020 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 2 Comments

Thanksgiving in the US this year is certainly different from those of years past and I have a feeling the whole world is watching. Will Americans further propel the numbers of COVID cases and continue to keep international travel at a standstill, or will people be responsible and do what is needed to to keep the numbers down? I have a feeling we already know that answer.

We’re definitely staying home and not seeing any family or friends, as was normal before this year. I can’t help but think that just two years ago I was in Hong Kong with my kids for the holiday break.

We spent the American Thanksgiving Day then with a number of friends in Hong Kong, eating so well and covering much ground on Hong Kong Island. It’s a trip we will always remember so fondly. I’d spent other Thanksgivings in Hong Kong, sometimes celebrating the holiday and sometimes not, but the one two years ago was especially memorable because it was my kids’ first time seeing Hong Kong. These are just some photos from Thanksgiving Day 2018.

The above are from the Blue House in Wanchai and the China Club in Central. Below are photos from the Peak and dinner with dear friends at home.
