An evening with Andrea Thome

June 8, 2018 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

Back in February, I met Andrea Thome at an author panel we both participated in with Cristina Henriquez. Right away, Andrea exuded warmth and geniality. I’ve been on other author panels, but this was one of my favorites and one in which I learned the most. I went home with two of Andrea’s novels–Walland and Seeds of Intention–and was blown away. I love the way she writes about place and personal relationships. Her compassion shines through in her writing and I wanted to read more.

Fortunately, her third book just came out this week and tonight I attended the launch party for House of Belonging. (Andrea so generously gave me a sneak peak of House of Belonging, so I read it–and loved it–last month). But I wouldn’t have missed her launch party for anything.

Andrea does swag like no one else. Tonight she gave out pens and cookies with her book cover for House of Belonging. (I also have a blanket with the cover image–Andrea photographs all her covers–that my youngest son calls the cover blanket.)

If you enjoy women’s lit and romance and want to be taken away to enchanting and pristine parts of the US, you will love her books, too.
