Photo Friday

Since I was at the Peak lookout pagoda two weeks ago today, Hong Kong has seen record-breaking heat, followed by not one, but two typhoons. Some people say a year can make a difference, but we’re talking about half a month!

This lookout pagoda on the Peak is something I loved visiting when I lived in Hong Kong, especially when family and friends were in from out of town. So much on the Peak has changed over the years and it’s under construction again. It seems like it’s gotten to a point of no return in kitschiness, but the lookout pagoda remains lovely and removed from the tourist trap just adjacent to it.

Is there a place you adore, but has been spoiled by kitschiness?
