The Indian dress

December 12, 2016 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

When I was in Hong Kong recently, one of my missions was to have a dress and coat tailored from a sari my mom bought me in India earlier this year. I blog about it here and, due to the cost, ended up with a skirt and a dress.

My inspiration for this mission was my mom. In 1965 she traveled to India for the first time and also bought a sari that she had transformed into a dress and coat. I recently found these photos of the dress and coat from when I wore them to a party in 1991.

The dress still fits, although not as loose as it once was (three kids will do that!). The zipper broke so I need to look for a tailor to fix it. Stay tuned.
