An evening with Anna Michels

May 24, 2016 By Susan Blumberg-Kason Leave a Comment

Tonight I attended a fun book event for my Good Chinese Wife editor! Anna Michels is my editor at Sourcebooks, but today is the publication date of her first novel, 26 Kisses (Simon Pulse, 2016). Isn’t the cover just perfect?

Anna Michels and me

Her book is a young adult novel and sounds like so much fun! When teenaged Veda is dumped by her boyfriend one summer, she sets on a quest to get over him: kissing 26 boys, each with a name starting with a different letter in the alphabet.

Anna gave a great talk about her early writing aspirations and inspirations. She also answered quite a few questions. I was going to ask her what it’s like to be an author after having been an established acquisitions editor, but someone beat me to that question. In her answer, she said she appreciates her authors all the more, especially when it comes to promoting one’s book.

I was fifth in line to get a few copies signed and cannot wait to start reading it!

Happy Pub Day, Anna!
