When I was in Shanghai a couple weeks ago, I came across author Eileen Chang’s old apartment on one of the Art Deco walking tours.

Eileen Chang's house

Isn’t it a beauty? Eileen Chang is one of my favorite authors, so I thought it was very fitting to see the building where she lived more than half a century ago. Our guide remarked that the building is closed to the public, but we were still able to get a good view of it.

If you want to read more about Eileen Chang, I’ve posted before about her here, here, and here, among others. I even have a tag on my blog devoted to Chang.
