I met Ray Hecht last year at a book reading in Hong Kong and it was there that I heard he was coming out with a new novel this year. I recently read and reviewed this novel, South China Morning Blues (Blacksmith Books, 2015), a clever and unique story of twelve young people in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, many of whom intersect at different points in the book. The book comes out October 15th and can be ordered through the publisher or pre-ordered on Amazon (out in December on that site).
In other exciting news, Ray and I will be on a panel at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival with Shannon Young and Marshall Moore on Sunday, November 8th from 3:30-5:00PM at the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences. We’ll discuss writing about cross-cultural relationships. It’s sure to be fun and exciting.

Nice to see Ray featured on your blog! I also thought his book was incredibly unique and a pleasure to read. Your panel in HK will be amazing — wish I could be there!
