I’ve been meaning to try Belly Q, a modern Asian restaurant on Chicago’s West Randolph Street’s restaurant row, for a while now. Last night I met my friend and publishing mentor Jean Iversen for dinner there.
We ordered a bunch of small plates, which is their specialty. The fried chicken was one of our favorites.
As were the lamb buns. We were both impressed with the generous amount of buns served with the flavorful lamb patties.
The coconut grits were creamy with a bit of a zing.
And the kimchi potato salad was amazing, too.
I don’t eat pork, but Jean ordered the renowned sticky rice with Chinese sausage and thought it was delicious, too.
We had no room for dessert, but the menu featured soft serve ice cream with most of the dessert offerings. Definitely something to try next time.
Belly Q is located at 1400 West Randolph in Chicago. 312.563.1010
