At work in Hong Kong

January 28, 2015 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 1 Comment

There are a few small, yet significant, scenes in Good Chinese Wife that take at my workplace in Hong Kong. A few months after I started my job as an editor at the Open Learning Institute (which later became the Open University of Hong Kong), my parents popped in for a visit. Here are a few photos from when I took them to Homantin, Kowloon to show them where I worked.

My mom and I are standing in front of the stairs leading up to the school’s front courtyard.

And here are my dad and I upstairs in the courtyard.

This photo was taken nearby on Waterloo Road. It’s one of my favorite streets in all of Hong Kong.

A lot happened in this office where I worked for two years. I met some great friends with whom I’m still in touch. I worked here when I was pregnant with my first child. And I also took a half day from this job when I met my step-daughter and then-husband’s first ex-wife.

If you haven’t read Good Chinese Wife, I hope these photos will pique your curiosity!
