temple in wan chaiAlthough Hong Kong is a modern city, it’s still possible to find a street like busy Queen’s Road East, where old meets new.

Tom and I came across this temple on our way to a bus stop in Wanchai, where the usual bus to Stanley was re-routed due to the street closures in Occupy. As much as it seemed like a pain to find the start of the new bus route, it was a blessing in disguise because we happened upon a gem like this temple.

I’d traversed this street dozens of times when I lived in Hong Kong and even waited for buses around the same area, yet I didn’t remember this temple from before. That’s another thing about Hong Kong: there’s so much to see that it’s not always possible to take it all in at once.
