flight screenIt’s hard to believe Tom and I left for Hong Kong two weeks ago tomorrow. Or that we’ve been home for a week.

It was such a magical trip that we’re still talking about it just as much as we talk about our kids–which is all the time.

But when I think back to the day we left, I can’t help but marvel that I sat through a 16-hour flight in the middle seat and survived! Now I feel I can do anything!

If you’re read Good Chinese Wife, you know I used to have a high threshold for just about anything. Flights to Asia back then took 24 hours from Chicago because I couldn’t fly direct and usually had a 5-hour layover in Seoul or Tokyo.

It is great having a Cathay direct flight now. I watched four movies on that 16-hour flight there and three on the 14-hour return (in an aisle seat). The best thing about the departing flight was taking my first sip of water. It tasted just like the water I drank in Hong Kong all those years ago.

Welcome back.
