Autumn lantern exhibit at the Montreal Botanical Gardens

October 22, 2012 By Susan Blumberg-Kason 3 Comments

Yesterday I returned from a magical long weekend in Montreal with my husband’s two sisters. We mainly shopped and ate, but on Saturday trekked out to the Montreal Botanical Gardens. As luck would have it, the Gardens were showing their annual lantern exhibition in the Chinese garden.

Of course, I was game.

We found lanterns well before arriving at the entrance of the Chinese garden. As lovely as they looked during the day, I’m sure it was a spectacular sight at night.

This is the beginning of the proper Chinese garden.

It reminds me of gardens I’ve visited in China.

I feel so lucky that we were in Montreal during this exhibit. It runs until early November.

Bah – that doesn’t look anything remotely like China!

Where’s all the litter, people hawking things at the top of their lungs, huge lines and rampant price gouging….

Mind you, it does look lovely and peaceful.

Hah! I guess my longterm memory is also failing me!

Oh, everything looks better from a distance… preferably temporal, but physical’s fairly good, too.
